Work With Us
Whether you prefer to be outside digging in the dirt or spending time inside sharing your creative talents, we have a place for you.
Garden Workdays
One of the best ways to experience Peacehaven is to dig in the soil and get your hands dirty at one of our Garden Workdays. Held Saturday mornings from April through October, from 9AM-11AM, you can choose your dates and register below:
Fiber Arts
A group gathers every Wednesday and Thursday on the Farm to work with our fiber art program and to create products that support tour mission in the marketplace. From the start, the program offers a calm, welcoming space where everyone can participate, meaningfully.
Residential Volunteer Opportunities
This volunteer role provides assistance to our residential staff and allows the volunteer to gain perspective in serving those with intellectual and developmental disabilities – most importantly through building relationships with Peacehaven’s residents. We have several volunteer opportunities, including Meal Time, Physical Health, Music, Weekend Activities, etc.
Here are a few Frequently Asked Questions and answers as well:
Peacehaven exists to solve for isolation by building real community where people of all abilities belong. Volunteers make this possible by joining Members, staff, and families in inclusive living, learning, work, and play.
Volunteer opportunities change with the seasons and may include:
* Garden Workdays (April–October): planting, weeding, mulching, harvesting
* Creative projects: crafts, fiber arts, music, and simple site projects
* Pop-up markets & events: set-up, hosting, hospitality
* Community moments: sharing meals, conversation, and good work together
Members are adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (I/DD) who participate in Peacehaven programs and community life. You’ll also meet staff, families, and fellow volunteers—everyone has something to contribute here.
Be yourself, be respectful, and be patient.
* Speak directly to the Member
* Use clear, one-step directions
* Offer choices (“Rake or trowel?”)
* Allow time for responses
* Ask staff for support anytime
Volunteers cannot provide personal care (bathroom help) or assist with lifting or transfers.
If this comes up, say:
“I can’t help with that, but I’ll get a staff member right now.”
Staff are trained to ensure everyone’s safety and dignity.
Want to Volunteer?
We believe the best volunteer experiences grow out of relationships, not checkboxes. Instead of filling out a long form, we invite you to simply email us at volunteer@peacehavenfarm.org.
Tell us a little about yourself, what draws you to Peacehaven, and how you might like to show up. From there, we’ll take the next step together — finding a place where your time, talents, and presence can truly make a difference.
Additionally, we’ve created a handy FAQ sheet to answer some more common questions about Volunteering at Peacehaven. You can find that here.
