R.I.S.E.
Peacehaven began piloting a job-preparedness program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the summer of 2019.
This job program, formerly known as Julian & Friends, has now blossomed into R.I.S.E. (Reaching Interdependence, Skills, & Employment). R.I.S.E. is an educational & training program designed to help adults with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) gain employment.
According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, adults with I/DD searching for a job face an 77.5 percent unemployment rate, despite their desire and ability to work. R.I.S.E. endeavors to change that by endowing participants with work skills that can be used in a variety of job settings.
