Peacehaven farm

Founding member leaves
legacy of her goodness

Susan ElliottSusan Elliott, one of the principle founders of Peacehaven Farm, died Friday, September 11, 2009. Susan lived a joyful life. Although she had cancer, she showed us all how to live a large life that was loving and generous. Through her impassioned speeches and her quiet acts of love, she inspired others to adopt her projects, which, with God's blessing, will continue to be beacons of light in a better world.

A celebration of her life was held Tuesday, September 15, at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Greensboro, N.C. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Peacehaven Farm, P.O. Box 68, Whitsett, NC 27377

The Vision of Peacehaven Farm

Peacehaven Farm will be a community for people with intellectual and physical disabilities. A desire to be in a community is independent of our abilities or disabilities. The farm will be located in the rolling hills of the Triad area of North Carolina. Peacehaven will be a working farm that will provide a community within itself as well as invite others to the farm. It will not be a place of isolation, but one of destination for both those with disabilities and for the community at large.
