Become a Resident Assistant

Peacehaven Community Farm, located in Whitsett, NC, is an affordable housing community for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities; our Core Members. Peacehaven is also home to four Resident Assistants that provide accompaniment and direct care for our four Core Members in an intentional community environment. We seek to create an experience for our Resident Assistants that fosters growth, personally and professionally.

As we are celebrating the future of our current Resident Assistants, we are also looking towards our new class of Resident Assistants.   We are currently seeking individuals who wish to be involved in our community and seek to gain a meaningful experience.  The Resident Assistant role is centered on building relationships of mutual care and support with the Core Members that create a culture in the home of unity, respect and participation of all. RAs provide direct care focused on Core Members’ personal development, and skill building.  This includes personal care needs, money management, general medical care, appointments, household chores, garden work, laundry, meal preparation, transportation and family/work communication and connections.
